Place of Birth
Nickname and why?
Self explanitory, Swebbs, Schwebbs, Schwebbdaddy, Schwebbervessence … whatever your flavour.
Years at Waratahs?
Since 1st Green Shield match in 2007 – 10 seasons… 14 seasons if you include junior reps?
Our club tag line is “Bleed Blue”. What does Bleed Blue mean to you?
Bleed Blue embodies everything about the club in one short slogan. It’s a tag line that defines our club culture, our competitive edge and our comradery amongst clubmen and clubwomen.
Who is the current Manly Cricketer that you enjoy playing cricket with the most and why?
Javed Badyari, amazing player, awesome captain and even better human being. You always know with Jarv that he’s out on the field to play competitively, but to also put a smile on everyones face by the days end.
Favourite band or musician?
Undecided…The Killers, Oasis or The Who
If you could invite any 3 people to dinner, dead or alive, who would it be?
David Beckham, Steve Jobs and Emma Watson.
Which Waratah team mate is the classiest dresser?
Hands down has to be Ashdeep Virdi. The man has always got the most dapper kit ready after a match and is always dressed for a circuit.
If the Manly Cricket playing group was Big Brother, who would you vote off first?
Probably Chris Green… get rid of the competition early before the audience voters get their say.
Who do you think is in-line for a huge season this year?
Definitely Mickey Edwards. Coming back from a long list of injuries, hopefully he can have a relatively injury free season and showcase to the world what he can do at state level this year.
What are your team goals for 2017/18?
To win a premiership, been to a few finals but never managed to win the big dance.
What puts a big smile on your face?
Seeing, 2nd Grade manager, Will Harding’s face turn as I explain how Manchester United are thoroughly better than Chelsea this year 😂
If James Sutherland gave you the top for 1 day, what would you change about cricket in Australia.
I would propose to the ICC to consider hosting a World XI Test match against the no.1 Test Nation at the time. I was fortunate to go the Australia v ICC World XI match in 2005 and thought it was a great concept.
If you had an all expenses paid trip anywhere in the world for a week, where would you go?
I would spend a week in Argentina, see Buenos Aires and past family friends up North where I was born.
If you could go back in time and give anyone a piece of advice, who would it be and why?
Definitely my Father… I just knew I should have chosen that MRF over the Kookaburra in 2004.
If you could walk out to bat to any song blaring in the background, what would it be and why?
Baba O’Riley by The Who. Would be awesome to walk out to the best ever song intro that there is.
What are you currently saving up to buy?
New watch, but can’t justify the price for it at the moment 😅
What is your place of solace?
At home with a guitar in hand. Strumming away on a guitar certainly puts your mind at ease and is thoroughly enjoyable, just to get away from the hustle and bustle of life.
