Place of Birth
Junior Accountant and Student at the mighty MQ University
Nickname and why?
Any variation on my fantastic last name which includes (and is not limited to) Pot, Glory, Digga, Ham Sole, etc….
Years at Waratahs?
This is my 7th year playing for the Waratahs, time flies when you’re having fun!
Our club tag line is “Bleed Blue”. What does Bleed Blue mean to you?
To “Bleed Blue” for me is to represent this club with pride and passion, both on and off the field. We are so lucky here at Manly to have a group of incredible people, so I believe looking out and supporting every player, coach, volunteer, and member of our club is at the heart of this message.
Who is the current Manly Cricketer that you enjoy playing cricket with the most and why?
You get to play alongside so many great humans at the Waratahs but I would have to pick Javed Badyari. The energy, positivity and enthusiasm the man brings to a dressing room is unrivalled and makes every Saturday so enjoyable!
Favourite band or musician?
Anything in the Top 40, but especially something from the great Bruno Mars…the man makes nothing but absolute tunes.
If you could invite any 3 people to dinner, dead or alive, who would it be?
1) Russell Arnold, because all I’ve ever wanted is to meet the best Sri Lankan commentator of the 21st century.
2) Jesus Christ, because we’d have an unlimited supply of wine and two absolute Gods at the table.
3) Albert Speer the Nazi Architect, how complicit was he in the Nazi regime throughout WWII???
What is your earliest life memory?
Picking apart the Hole family’s 2nd and 3rd XI’s in the backyard with a range of expansive stroke play. I think my brothers are still crunching the numbers on how to get me out.
Which Waratah team mate is the classiest dresser?
A tie between Sam Webber and Arshdeep Virdi, never have two men dressed so impeccably.
If the Manly Cricket playing group was Big Brother, who would you vote off first?
Easy, Brad Wilson.
Who do you think is in-line for a huge season this year?
Ryan Bishop-Perrett is going to run in and take 50 wickets in the next year or two. Nobody trains harder and deserves it more.
What are your team goals for 2017/18?
To win a Premiership for the Waratahs is the ultimate goal, along with picking up another Club Championship. I think we have the playing group to go close in just about every grade this year.
What puts a big smile on your face?
Sitting in the dressing room on a Saturday afternoon enjoying a beer after singing the team song. Winning games of cricket for the Waratahs with a fantastic bunch of people is just the best.
If James Sutherland gave you the top for 1 day, what would you change about cricket in Australia?
Pick the best XI players for each team regardless of age. Too many phenomenal players have missed out on representing their state/country because they’re ‘too old’. Also bring back the ING signs that you could hit for $50,000.
If you had an all-expenses paid trip anywhere in the world for a week, where would you go?
Canada. I was lucky enough to spend a fair bit of time their last year and it is just one of the most incredible countries. Would be a road trip throughout British Columbia and Alberta with no expense spared.
If you could go back in time and give anyone a piece of advice, who would it be and why?
I would go back and tell myself to start throwing some willow around at the crease from a young age. T20 is the future and alI I do is nerdle the ball around!
If you could walk out to bat to any song blaring in the background, what would it be and why?
Africa – Toto. Inspirational stuff.
What are you currently saving up to buy?W
Probably for another overseas trip in the not too distant future. Hopefully Nepal sooner rather than later!
What is your place of solace?
Bed. Sleep is the best.
