Nickname and why?
Lento (pretty self explanatory)

Years at Waratahs?
This will be my 4th season

Our club tag line is “Bleed Blue”. What does Bleed Blue mean to you?
Bleed Blue to me means we play for one another, it means we play for the peninsula of Manly and we are the cricket representatives for everyone of the Northern Beaches. We have a passion for everything cricket on and off the field from the 1st Grade captain all the way to the have a go cricketers for the first time in Milo Cricket.

Who is the current Manly Cricketer that you enjoy playing cricket with the most and why?
I’m very excited to play with everyone this year, the talent we have attracted to the club and what we have returning from injury is extremely exciting. Playing alongside a team that involves more than one  test, first class and BBL representatives is an exiting prospect

Favourite band or musician?
Don’t have a favourite, like to broaden my musical likings with all genres. Growing up though it was the Red Hot Chilli Peppers

If you could invite any 3 people to dinner, dead or alive, who would it be?
Adam Gilchrist, Kelly Slater and Tiger Woods

What is your earliest memory?
Running around Grandma’s backyard nude.

Which Waratah team mate is the classiest dresser?
Is there one? Haha. Wait until you see Chris Green kitted up. 👌🏽

If the Manly Cricket playing group was Big Brother, who would you vote off first?
Depends what mood Sam Alexander was in. “Alright alright I’ll admit it I’ll vote myself out”

Who do you think is in-line for a huge season this year?
The whole club, the success from 2014-15 will be emulated again.

What are your team goals for 2017/18?
Continue to improve an gel as a unit. We have a brilliant balance of experience and youth this season and I’m looking forward to been apart of that success.

What puts a big smile on your face?
Lots of things I’m a pretty happy guy. At present though the Newcastle Knights winning a couple of NRL games brings a little tear of happiness as well as it’s a rare event.

If you had an all expenses paid trip anywhere in the world for a week, where would you go?
I’m yet to do the US so I’d say there. Although a surf trip somewhere would be ideal.

If you could go back in time and give anyone a piece of advice, who would it be and why?
I wouldn’t necessarily go back in time, I’d offer the advice now in a cricket forum to all youngsters who do want to excel in cricket is that there is plenty of time don’t get caught up in not making under age rep teams etc, continue to work hard and be passionate about improving and your chance will come.

If you could walk out to bat to any song blaring in the background, what would it be and why?
I usually have a song in my head when I walk out and it sticks with me through my innings which generally isn’t long so if I was to walk out with one nothing would beat a little 2am special Daryl Braithwaite Horses.

What are you currently saving up to buy?
Just purchased a new car, so the savings have gone to that. Next step a house (wish me luck)

What is your place of solace?
Well finish with a banger of a question. Mine would be away from the big smoke probably at home on the Central Coast more than likely the beach with close family and friends.

Sponsor Information

Jay Lenton is proudly sponsored by The Butchers Cafe for the 2017/18 season.

Located just up the road from Manly Oval at Fairlight shops, The Butchers Cafe is an extension of the butcher next door and how it makes it’s name.

Although the owner, Andrew Dawse, has since shrunk his empire to just the cafe, it is still the number one cafe in the Manly area and is always has customers lined up out the door looking to get a taste of their great coffee.

They also do delicious food, the Wagu Beef burger particularly making a name for itself over the last few years.

You can go there for breakfast or lunch, and make sure you tell them Manly Cricket sent you.

We would like to thanks Dawsey and his team for their amazing support over the last few years.

Visit them at 152 Sydney Rd, Fairlight
