Manly Warringah Junior Reps continue with successful weekend

Our Manly Warringah Junior Cricket Association representative teams continued on their merry way over the weekend with wins in 5 of the 6 boys age groups, repeating the result from the week before.

Unfortunately our girls U/13’s and U/15’s both suffered losses but in the first year of cricket for many of the girls put in a great effort.

Star of the day was Waratahs 3rd grader and current Australian U/16 representative Ollie Davies who blasted a magnificent 147 off just 101 balls against last year’s champions Parramatta in the U/16 Watson Shield. Ollie was well supported by Luca Franks with 32 and Kyle Martin with 23. IN reply the Parramatta boys could only manage 193 off their 50 overs with Jackson Rath the standout with 3 for 35.

At Collaroy Park, our U/11 team, playing in the first year of reps, continued on their dominant start, hitting 218 off their 50 overs thanks to Jake Hutchins with 68 and Andrew Boulton with 48. A stellar bowling performance from Patrick Frost (4 for 39) with his leggies restricted Blacktown to 156 all out.

The defending U/14 Premiers also get their season back on track after a first round loss, easily accounting for Fairfield who were bowled out for 142, passing them with 6 wickets in hand. Skipper Sam Greenland was the match winner, hitting 52 before being dismissed just before the boys tasted victory.

Thus far our U/11s, U/13s, and U/15s all remain undefeated, while our U/12s, U/14s and U/16s are 1 from 2.

In the girls matches, our U/13 Mollie Dive Shield girls were defeated fairly convincingely by Parramatta. We were only able to muster 52 while the opposition passed us for the loss of only 4 wickets.

Meanwhile the U/15s also had a big loss. Thanks for another half century from Niham Bullen (60) we scrapped to 115 all out, but were passed by Central COast for the los of only 2 wickets.
