Each year, the Manly Warringah Waratahs, it’s players and it’s coaches run 2 coaching clinics at Manly Oval for junior players around the area, and that will continue as part of our Styleness Manly for Manly program in 2017/18.
The club was built in the early days on coaching clinics at Manly Oval held by club legends like George Lowe and Jim Randall, but since the advent of the Junior Association, they have been few and far between. It is a wonderful initiative that both the kids and the players enjoy being involved in.
Manly Oval on a beautiful Summers morning is as picturesque as you can get, and getting the kids to come on and perform some coaching activities is a great way to get them dreaming about playing at Manly oval one day. Our clinics from previous years were a huge success.
Each club will receive invites from our community team of Tim Cruickshank, Mickey Edwards or Ted Lindsay well in advance of each clinic for 2017/18. We are looking at 2 clinics for this season. 10 kids from each junior club will be invited to attend each clinic, with age groups differing for each event.
Our coaching staff run the day while each of the players take over one station to take the kids through various drills.
