Each year 1,800 public school children in need come to Stewart House from many part of NSW and the ACT. During their stay, children are provided with optometry, dental and medical treatment as well as emotional support. This is balanced with health and education programs and our of school activities to help boost their self-esteem and to promote a healthier lifestyle.
To help Stewart House achieve its objectives, MWDCC will again be taking the kids for a cricket journey throughout the 2017/18 summer around their picturesque Curl Curl location, teaching them the basics of cricket while getting them outside in the park or the beach for some exercise and fresh air. This not only gives the kids some new role models and positive adult influences, but allows the Waratahs to continue it’s active involvement with the local community as part of its Manly for Manly program.
This partnership is an obvious one considering the need for adult influences and Stewart Houses location on the Northern Beaches.
