Arriving late at Pratten Park at approx 5.00pm from out Penrith way we found the Manly boys were 6/160 odd and a lot of work yet to be done chasing 261. With 20 overs remaining and 100 runs to get the job look very hard but not impossible.

Russell Wyatt had scored 55 earlier on and plenty of the boys got some runs but did not go on with it. This left Luke Edgell now on 50 and Warren Evans 0 to try and create some Manly history.

More field placement moves by Wests than would be seen at the world chess championships still found 6 out on the boundary. Warren and Luke proceeded to take the singles on offer and turn 1's into 2's as Wests sat out on the fence.

It was hard to find a boundary but the runs kept flowing and 5 an over was maintained. 10 overs to go and 55 runs needed. Some nice running between the wicket and good placement scored us a good over of 10 runs and we were in it with 5 overs to go and 27 runs needed.

More field shuffling, and by now very dark skies saw Warren giving his glasses a real polish. Seeing the ball was near impossible.

Luke brings up a incredible 100 under immense pressure and salutes the crowd. His work was not over yet and he puts his head back down to complete the job with Warren who now moves into the 30's.

2 overs to go and 16 runs needed. Now its getting difficult as boundaries were all covered. Cries of Victor Trumper saw Wazza launch one out of the ground into the next suburb and roars of applause came from the Manly hill now swelling to 40 or more.

11 balls and 10 runs needed for victory, a few more singles and we were at the last over of the day. Darkness was upon us and 6 runs off 6 balls was needed.

A quick single, another single and 4 was needed off 4 balls. Lukey got the ball he dreamed of and sent it skyward, up up and over. 6 runs and the celebrations started.

Luke and Warren were outstanding and the win sees 3's progress into the semi finals where they will meet Sutherland at Caringbah Oval.
