Congratulations to the Cronulla Sharks who took out the 2012 Big Bash game at Manly Oval against the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles last Friday the 20th January. Jointly hosted by The Manly Warringah District Cricket Club, Manly Warringah Sea Eagles and the Manly Council, the day was a great success, the charity being the big winner. Cots4kids and Sutherland Early Childhood Support Service were the charity's of choice for the Sea Eagles and Sharks respectively in what is becoming an annual event.
Stars of the day were new Sharks Recruit Todd Carney, young halfback Chad Townsend and Cronulla Captain Paul Gallen with the bat, while big George Rose undoubtedly was, somehow, the star for the Sea Eagles with his unorthodox bowling style.
The game was covered by Foxsports News. Click here to see the FoxSports coverage.
MWDCC would like to thanks the Sea Eagles and Manly Council for working so closely with us, as well as Manly Oval guru Sean Rout who ran a great day as per usual. And lastly, we would like to thank our playing group who skillfully manned the BBQ and Canteen all afternoon. Seeing 25 current Manly players working like they did in support of charity was amazing to see. Thanks fellas. Team Pursuit points for all.....
